For consistent good work and devotion to duty for the period under review, 22 September 1917 to 24 February 1918, with particular reference to the attack on Gravenstafel on the 4th October 1917 when he was in charge of the Battalion parties and performed his duties with great courage and success. He has previously served with the Battalion at the Somme and Messines.
