CAIRNIE, Private G J B, who was reported to have been missing since June 5 1915, was a computing draughtsman in the Lands & Survey Dept's Auckland office and went to the front with the Auckland Infantry Company in the main expeditionary force.
He is 34 yrs old and after working in West Australia for some time came to NZ about eight years ago. He served in the Taranaki Rifle Volunteers for five years and is a member of the Legion of Frontiersmen.
Brother of Mrs. J. L. Volkwyn, of 17A, Western Rd., Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
